Energinet.dk is building the facilities which lead the electricity from the Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm in the North Sea into the onshore grid. The wind farm is being constructed 55 kilometres from Esbjerg and Blue Water is involved in the project in several ways.
“So far, we have discharged all three transformer units in Esbjerg. Furthermore, we were in charge of transporting and storing the units. The agreement also includes transport and loading of the units later this year in connection with the installation. We also act as agents for the barges transporting the jacket and top side”, says Mikkel Puggaard, who is Project Manager at Blue Water.

Blue Water has also entered into an agency agreement with the two suppliers of the platform Hollandia Offshore BV and HSM Offshore BV.
“We have ensured accommodation of all HSM Offshore BV crew in one complex. This makes the crew transfer to and from the port a lot easier. We will coordinate all port calls and fulfill any requirement HSM might have during the project. As we are available 24/7, we can render prompt assistance in case of unforeseen events such as illness”, says Mikkel Puggaard.
The yellow jacket for the Horns Rev 3 Project weighs 1,871 tons including the piles and the top side on the right weighs 1,844 tons.
